On November 3rd, 1911, the Norwegian barque - bark SV HANSY, owned at the time of her loss by Andersen H. G., Fredrikstad, was on a voyage from Sundsvall to Sydney with a cargo of wood, when she was lost after running aground, off Pen Olver Point, Lizard.

Much of the cargo of timber was washed up on the local beaches and salvaged by the local population. Many houses in Cadgwith are built at least in part from this wreck.
